About
Maddisen’s journey into dog training began with Wizard of Paws, a thriving dog training and grooming company she built over seven years in Ontario before selling it in January 2024. Seeking new adventures, she moved to BC and founded Revolt K9, where her dedication to canine behavior and training continues to evolve.
Maddisen's training journey began with her Miniature Schnauzer, Chester, whom she trained in agility using homemade courses in her backyard. She later expanded her expertise with her Border Collie, Rev, teaching him a remarkable array of tricks and earning him titles such as "Trick Dog Champion" at just 4 months old. Rev’s achievements continued to grow, including a top 3 finish in the "World's Most Amazing Dog" competition for $100,000 and media appearances, building a significant online following. Maddisen was also a member of the SuperDogs for 11 years, showcasing her skills in trick training and musical freestyle performances at events across the country.
Maddisen holds a certification from the Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behavior and specializes in high-energy and working breeds. Recently, Maddisen has ventured into the working dog world, focusing on detection and stock dogs. In doing so, she identified a gap in the foundational skills taught within these disciplines and felt compelled to improve them. With her experience and passion, she aims to strengthen these critical skills, ensuring dogs and handlers can build a more solid, reliable foundation.
At Revolt K9, Maddisen’s dog training approach is built on a profound understanding of canine behavior. She focuses on utilizing positive and adaptable methods to cultivate trust and confidence in dogs, always aligning with their natural instincts to help them reach their full potential.
